Last gasp Gunners

Arsenal 2-1 Southampton

Arsenal secured a vital three points on Saturday thanks to a last minute penalty from Santi Cazorla which should not be used in any way shape or form to disguise an otherwise average performance.
Arsene Wenger decided to deviate from his normal approach to introducing new signings to the Premier League, by starting both his new additions, Mustafi and Peres. Unfortunately both struggled to come to terms with the pace and ferocity of the Premier League and as a result produced fairly average performances in keeping with that of the whole team.

Arsenal secured their first win of the Premier League season on Saturday with a fine performance against Watford, racing into a comfortable 3-0 lead before half time.

The Gunners have been far from their best so far this campaign, struggling for fluidity in attack in particular. However against Watford, helped by scoring an early goal, Arsenal produced a fine display of passing and movement to at times rip their opponents apart.

Arsenal followed their loss against Liverpool on the opening day of the Premier League season with another poor display as they drew 0-0 against Leicester on Saturday evening.
Once again Wenger’s failure to recruit a centre forward during the summer transfer window came back to haunt him as the continued experiment in deploying Alexis Sanchez up front failed once again.

Lack of spending costs Gunners again!

Arsenal 3-4 Liverpool

Given the total lack of investment in the squad during the summer transfer window, it was no real surprise to see Arsenal completely taken apart on the opening day of the season, by a Liverpool side that were far below their best for large parts of the game.

It's happened again!

Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Oh how they laughed. Those clad in red and white on the final day of the Premier League season had to hold their sides as they laughed harder and harder with every Newcastle goal that flew in at St James’ Park on Sunday.

Gunners show character

Man City 2-2 Arsenal

Arsenal significantly strengthened their chances of a top three finish with a 2-2 draw away to Manchester City on Sunday.

The Gunners knew that a loss would have severely dented their hopes of avoiding the dreaded qualification round for next season’s Champions League and therefore were happy to come away from the Etihad with a share of the spoils.

Arsenal moved a step closer to securing another top four finish with a victory over Norwich on Saturday evening.

Much of the build up and aftermath of this game was overshadowed by the planned fan protest against the stagnation at the club.
